It is an easy to read prequel that ends where the game starts. A look into how Rapture was before the fall and how the society was meant to be. You will also see how it all went to hell. How the characters fit in. They have included some of the bigger events and you get to read the situations the audiologs come from. It's not a perfect book, but it's a very interesting insight for those that want just a little deeper dive into the lore!

I've read it; and honestly, no, don't read it. It has a highly basic language and it's hard to enjoy as something other than a childrens' book because of it. I can't recommend you waste hours reading a book which is poorly written. If you wan't to read I'd recommend reading something from a well-respected auther. Don't try to start reading with the book from the post. But with that said, if you're nuts about Bioshock, then sure - read away. But if you care about language you won't enjoy it. But hey, that's just a theory.. a comment theory.
