Bear in mind that tube Amos have to be *pushed* for the tubes to begin cracking up and producing the sound they're meant to. The real question is.. how often can you play loudly?

Definitely go for a tube amp. I have a Mesa/Boogie studio caliber 22+ and it's a totally awesome incredibly versatile amp that i would not hesitate to recommend.

Go for a used tube amp.. nothing can beat that sound. But do not underestimate the importance of a good speaker cabinet.

Peavey 5150/6505 plus TubeScreamer. Remember, tube powered 100W is waaaaaaaaay more than transistor powered 100W. Tube 100W head will be useless at home or even to practice because it will be too loud! If You want something in between, try 6505MH, it's full tube but 25W with an option to reduce power to 1 or 2 watts, so You can easily practice at home.

If you want 80s Sound, ditch the transistors. There are pretty good plexi clones out there for small bucks. Have a fuckin weekend and don't forget to Rock'n'Roll!

so i can't decide between a tube amps or a transistor. I actually have a blackstar ID core,i really like the OD1 and OD2 sound and jamming ratt/dokken/van halen songs/solo's on this amp is simply amazing so i would like something that give me this 80s sound type with a lot of power (my price is between 600-750 buck)
